Mr W. bought Gipsy Girl as a casco hull in a small shipyard in The Netherlands. She was finished to high standards, with a solid teak interior and modern equipment.
Gipsy Girl was solidly rigged, dressed in Ratsey and Lapthorn and set off for the Mediteranean.
During many years she chartered succesfully around the Italian coast, specialising in dive charters.
Mr J. took over Gipsy Girl in 1997, and set up a charter operation out off Kusadasi, Turkey, specialising in sailing around the Dedocanese Islands.
Crew and captain decided in 1999 that the millenium had to be passed in the Carribean. Gipsy Girl sailed West towards Italy, chartered in Sicily and the Eolian Islands for one season, and set off for the Antlantic crossing in september 1999. The millenium on Mustique was worth it...
In 2001 Gipsy Girl was sailed back to Belgium. Each season from then on she explored different countries, taking part in the Cutty Sark Race, exploring Spain, Brittany, the UK, the Channel Islands, the Hybrids and Norway. She was a regular customer in St Catherines Dock in London, and showed her flag in most ports on the North Sea Coast.
As Mr J. has new adventures planned, Gipsy Girl is looking for a new master, to bring her to new horizons.
